Privacy Policy

Sqeaky Wheels is an independent record label based in Aotearoa New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Visiting our website. Our site is hosted by Squarespace, which collects standard visit information such as pages viewed, browser type and approximate location, and uses cookies to run the site and show us basic traffic statistics. See Squarespace's privacy policy for details.
Our mailing list. If you sign up, we collect your email address, and your name if you give it. We use them only to send you news about our releases, gigs and artists. Our mailing list is run by AWeber, which stores this information for us. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in every email, and we'll stop emailing you.
Our social media tool. We use a social media scheduling tool, which we host ourselves on our own server in New Zealand, to publish posts to the label's own accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok and YouTube. When we connect one of the label's accounts, the platform gives the tool:
basic profile information for that account, such as its name, username and profile picture
access tokens that let it publish posts and videos to that account on our behalf
basic statistics about our own posts
This information is about the label's own accounts, not about you. The tool doesn't collect information about other users, followers or viewers. It doesn't read private messages, and it doesn't sell or share any data. Tokens and media are stored on our server, kept only while the account is connected, and deleted when we disconnect it.
TikTok. For TikTok, the tool uses TikTok's Login Kit and Content Posting API only to read the label's basic profile and to upload and publish videos to the label's TikTok account. You can see or remove the connection in TikTok under Settings → Security and permissions → Apps and services.
Who we share with. We don't sell personal information. We share it only with the services listed above, which act on our behalf, or when the law requires it.
Your rights. You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Email marcos@sqeakywheels.com and we'll reply within 20 working days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Data deletion. To have your information deleted, or to ask us to remove a connected account's data from our social media tool, email marcos@sqeakywheels.com with the subject "Data deletion".
Changes. We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
